Discover a different Ibiza through its underground world

There are some incredible places hiding beneath the island’s surface. As we don’t want you to miss out on anything that’s worth seeing, we’ll tell you about the best caves to visit in Ibiza.

Cueva de San Miguel or Can Marca, Ibiza

This cave is situated on the northern part of the island, in a natural enclave overlooking the Port de Sant Miquel, Islas Murada and Ferradura and la Torre d’es Mular. The views from the cliffs are also spectacular, but even if you don’t want to visit the cave itself, a wander around outside it is definitely worth the effort.

A visit to the cave takes about 40 minutes, and during the summer months there are guided visits every half an hour. During the tour, a guide will offer information in a number of languages, and at the end of the route, there is spectacle of water, light and sound.

Na Coloms or Cueva de la Luz, Ibiza

Also located on the northern part of the island, yet the western side, we can find this aquatic cave. It’s not easily accessible as it takes about an hour and a half, but you’ll venture through a forest and along some pretty cliffs to get there.

A guided tour of this cave is recommended. So, if you get in contact with the hotel reception, they can help you organize your visit. The prettiest part of this cave are the sunrays that penetrate from the sea into its interior, and the journey is without a doubt worth it. For more information, contact us directly.

Cueva des Culleram, Ibiza

On the winding road that joins Sant Joan de Labritja with cala de Sant Vicent, we can find Cova des Culleram, which during the Carthaginian period, was a sanctuary dedicated to the goddess, Tanit. This Punic sanctuary was discovered in 1907 and here, you can see a cave that is some 150m high. The cave is open to visitors from April to October, Tuesday to Sunday between 10am and 2pm.

There are many things to do in Ibiza, such as exploring the island from the inside; through its caves. However, if you want to discover even more magical places on the island, you can’t miss out on a visit to the spectacular natural reserve, es Vedrà.
